The remaining players to make up the opening line-up of 32 players in the First Round Proper of the Men’s Singles will be: The 2008 Men’s Winmau World Master, or if already qualified, the Standby Player, and five qualifiers to be determined at the International Play-Offs at The Spa, Bridlington on Thursday, December 4th 2008.
In the 2009 Women's Singles the four seeded players are:
1. Anastasia Dobromyslova (Russia) 2. Trina Gulliver (England)
3. Francis Hoenselaar (Netherlands) 4. Julie Gore (Wales)
Karin Krappen is unseeded at Nr. 5 and will be joined by the 2008 Women's, or if already qualified, the Standby Player, and two qualifiers from the International Play-Offs at the Spa, Bridlington on Thursday 4th December.
