CELTIC Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Diomansy Kamara. The striker joins the club from Fulham on loan until the end of the season, with Celtic having an option to buy the player, and he links up again with Tony Mowbray, whom he previously played under at West Brom.
Kamara told the official Celtic website: "I'm delighted to sign for Celtic and I am very much looking forward to joining up with the manager and my new team-mates.
"Celtic is a magnificent football club. I will be looking to do my very best to contribute and bring the supporters success and hopefully enjoy a long future with the club."
The 29-year-old Senegal internationalist was born in Paris and began his career with local club Red Star 93 before moving to Italy. In 2004, he joined Portsmouth and a year later he moved to West Bromwich Albion.
Season 2006/07, which was Tony Mowbray’s first in charge at the Hawthorns, was an impressive one for Kamara, who scored 23 goals and helped West Brom to the Championship play-offs, and it earned him a move to Premiership side Fulham. Diomansy Kamara has also won over 40 caps for Senegal, scoring nine goals.
And Celtic have also completed the signing of teenager Paul Slane from Motherwell. The 18-year-old joins the club on a four-year deal.
Both signings are subject to final registration.
