SHAUN GREATBATCH is an ordinary man who is taking extraordinary events in his stride. He steps up to the oche tomorrow at the Lakeside World Darts Championship facing a battle for his life. Greatbatch, 39, has an incurable form of bone marrow cancer which has rampaged through his body with devastating effects. In June, Greatbatch was 6ft 5in tall. He is now four inches shorter at 6ft 1in because the disease has savaged his spine. Powerful chemotherapy drugs have killed millions of his blood cells in a bid to halt the cancer’s progress, leaving him exhausted. www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/other_sports/darts/article2090181.ecewow, didnt know things were so bad

Never liked him but had big balls to get up there and do what he did, and yep the end of the match was very moving!
It's tremendously sad and made me think about young Paul Hunter the snooker player, never really liked him either but the boy gave it his all when he found out he was dying, you cannot fail but to gain respect for people that face such a huge adversity with such honour and dignity, respect to them all.
