This is where I talk about the exploits of by beloved local team, Greenock Morton FC. Currently sitting 8th in a 10 team league in the Scottish First Division ( equivalent of Championship, but nowhere near as good ), We have been on some great form recently, having won 5 of our last 6 games before yesterday.
Yesterday we played St Johnstone, who are top of the league and are unbeaten in an incredible 11 game streak. They didn't lose that and kept it going to 12 in a 1-0 victory against us. Not a result that I'm overly fussed about as it was going to be a hard game, but it's horrible to lose a goal so late on. We're sitting three points ahead of Clyde who are in the playoff spot.
Anyways, this is going to be my Morton diary.

Morton 2-1 Ross County
Not a bad result here as we took three deserved points from the game. Hit the woodwork twice and had all manner of shots on the Ross County goal. We need to start putting more of our chances away, as we won't always take so much pressure and not lose a goal. Cracking free kick from Masterton for us to equalize a Ross County free kick. Wake's winner was messy but we'll take it.

Have fun in the playoffs ... again.
I think everyone that's not named Airdrie United should be safe from relegation this season. The battle for the playoff spot will be a tight one. We will probably be there or thereabouts at the end of the season, unless we can keep our recent form up, in which case we'll be miles away come the end of the season.

Tomorrow we take a trip to a potential banana skin at Airdrie United, currently sitting bottom of the table, and they're sure to be sitting there at the end of the season. However, they are a hard side to break down and defeat. The good thing is that so are we and unlike Airdrie, we can seemingly score more than one goal these days.
A win would tee up Tuesday's Partick game very well. We could do with the chance to leapfrog a few sides.

Right. There's been three results since my last update.
Airdrie United 1-0 Morton
Good slick play from Airdrie on the counter was too good for the defence. Keeper got sent off and rightly so, and they stuck the penalty in. They were worth their win in the end.
Morton 2-0 Partick Thistle
Wasn't there, but I was pleased to see the result.
Morton 2-2 Queen of the South
I've rarely been so delighted with a draw. Idiot of a ref, time wasting chancers and Morton playing crap. So how did we come away with a result. The Peter Weatherson one man show hit Cappielow with full steam ahead, and he came up with the goods yet again with a sensational performance, capped off with two goals.
Things are still looking good and I reckon we'll be in mid-table come the end of the season.

Aye, sure looks like it, with the horrible form we're on at the moment. Oh wait ...
The pish teams that can't win will go down. The teams that win more games than they draw or lose, including Morton, will be sitting ahead of gutter sides like Clyde and the Nazis.
Morton are also signing Kenny Deuchar to add more goals to the side. How cool is that ?

No it's 2009. A year after Kenny Deuchar was top scorer in our division before he went to the US.
That's a wee fact for the people with short memories.

The MLS isn't the SFL first division. It's a better standard. Salt Lake City expected another Tam McManus, but the difference is that McManus has a better all round game and can be expected to put in a better shift.
We're not looking for an all rounder. We're looking for a flat out goalscorer to team up with Peter Weatherson. Kenny Deuchar has a proven track record in this division with two different sides.
