Choosing a set of darts
Most darts shops will let you have a chuck in store these days, so this is easier than it used to be, however if its mail order than it will be trial and error for you.
Tip: Don't pick up a set and start throwing at t20, throw at D20 instead, this will give you a better idea of whether the weight is right for you.
Throwing too high above D20, then try a heavier dart, and below D20 try a lighter dart.
You can then do some fine tuning with flights, pear/slim/kite will all make the dart fly faster and slightly higher at the board, Standard will fly a little slower and lower at the board.
And for even more fine tuning, the lighter the flight the fast it goes, therefore the thicker the flight, the slower it goes.
as for % tungsten - the lower the % the more durable it is, the higher the percentage the softer the metal is and the quicker it will wear out or become marked.
Stems....thats personal preference, but the usual rule of thumb is short barrels - long stems and long barrels - short stems, but again you can use this to tweak your angle into the board.
