On pdc website it says it will now be top 4 in order of merit after world champs in Jan will qualify and 4 wild cards, ( 2 picks from sky & 2 from pdc)
4 plus 4 wildcards would make things currently look as follows:
1. Phil Taylor, £760,500 2. Terry Jenkins, £145,120 3. Simon Whitlock, £141,950 4. Raymond van Barneveld, £140,900 ----------------------------------------- 5. James Wade, £138,242 6. Mervyn King, £137,550 7. Adrian Lewis, £131,050 8. Ronnie Baxter, £128,842 9. Colin Lloyd, £122,485 10. Mark Walsh, £114,642 11. Colin Osborne, £114,042 12. Gary Anderson, £111,650 13. Andy Hamilton, £110,236 14. Paul Nicholson, £102,971
There's a long way to go...... the rest of the year will be very interesting !!!! ;D ;D ;D

I think they have made it more unfair imo. It was better the way it was.

I would have made it up to 14 players each playing a best of 10, would be less stale!!!

I think this is a good idea, if we stuck by the old criteria nest season PL would probably have - Taylor, Barney, Wade, King, Jenkins & Lewis as the top 6 in OOM, Whitlock would receive a wild card so there would only be 1 different face at least this way there is a chance for darts crowds to see new face.
I think Anderson & Nicholson are dead certs & if the likes of O'Shea or Hankey reach the semi-finals at the lakeside they would qualify for a tour card & maybe even a wildcard invite to the PL

i would be happy with taylor, whitlock, barney and wade top 4
and lewis, king, anderson and nicholson as wildcards.
that would be an awesome prem league
if mardle gets in im selling my 6 tickets that i always get and will refund my mates money
hes a clown and not a darts player these days

Gotta say I agree with this move. It's not a ranking tournament, so the PDC should have more leeway as to who gets in. Some players are only ranked lower cos they haven't been in the PDC long enough.
I'd go with the same 8 players as The Sandman. Can't really improve on that. I guess Terry Jenkins would be in with a shout but I still don't see him as a PL player cos he's a pretty boring bloke. I bet xmas with him and Darin Young must have been a barrel of laughs.
However, IF they use these extra wild cards to give Mardle a wildcard for 2011 I won't watch a single week of the PL. How the fook is he 'entertaining' anyhow? Jumping up and down on stage with an inflatable palm tree? Pretending he's 'surfing'? Getting hammered 8-0 or 8-1 with an 80 average? The man is a c0ck and totally out of his depth at the top level these days.
