do you think the booing & noisy crowds at the PL is ruining darts? or do you think the players should just get on with it, after all they are getting good money & Im sure if none of them wanted to play in the PL - there is plenty more players ready to take their place

I think it's a case of taking the bad with the good. There are times when the mental crowds help to make a match more memorable. I loved the crowd for Thornton/Mardle for example.
The players SHOULD get on with it. It's these big crowds that are helping to fund their prize money.

without the prem league they couldnt pay 35k for sat/sun tourneys
i know prem league crowd get a bad rep for people going out and enjoying themself but at any and every darts night im pissed, whether its in my local boozer or a pdc event it makes no difference to me. im out a for a good time
sky build it up to the pantomine boooing so cant really put the full blame on the crowd. sky play a huge part but never seen anyone giving them any shit

Most of the pantomime booing is fairly good natured though. Booing a winning dart louder than anything else is definately not the norm when it comes to that sort of thing, and I'm not buying that Sky are responsible. People are responsible for their own actions, filled with booze or not.
If you can't enjoy the darts without booing and singing "Are You Shagging Chamberlain" then I'd suggest that the darts can't be very enjoyable to you in the first place.

i'm not voting on this 1 because i think crowds at certain tournaments are far to noisy and its unfair to say every crowd is ruining darts. the premier league is starting to get more like a tournament to cater stag and hen parties rather than a tournament that dart fans go to see the players the love to watch. i met a good few people i no from hamilton/blantyre at glasgow this year who dont have a clue how to play darts and have never shown a bit of interest in watching it but still used it as an excuse to get a nite out. the gsod is another tournament the crowd gets far to loud. i cant really complain about the other events as i think the crowd is orderly when players are throwing but u still get the 1 or 2 idiots that are pished and shout out. people shouldnt boo or chant when a player is throwing. if some1 booed or tried to put any of us off whilst throwing in the pub we'd kick off big time.

Apparently booing when throwing isn't a big problem to players, it's more likely to be a noise in a silent room that will put a player off. However, and I'm going to use the Wade on winning dart from last week. I said that booing a player isn't bad in itself, but when a crowd increases the booing like that, the player must notice that and that in itself will put a player off. That's the sort of thing I'd like to see less off, and even when Hankey was throwing at the GSoD, he didn't get that.

the crowd at the premier league is, mostly, good natured banter. the players at that level are able to deal with it, hey even use it to spur them on. however i feel it is unfair the way king has been getting it tight. his reaction last nite showed it is getting to him. that all started as pantomime stuff bt its went up a notch recently. i was at the secc for last years pl and it was one of the best nites out ive had.. part swingin his light sabre at the crowd n that.. but the fans should show a bit of respect. the level of booing king has been getting (and to a lesser extent wade.. who i love) is getting out of order.. god he's one of the best out there. i think rather than booing the one u dont want to win, u should cheer the one u do.. anyway the "pantomime" atmosphere which has been brought to the pdc has brought darts into more and more households and that can only be a good thing. personnally these events have rekindled my interest in the sport. and as kennos says even people who had no interest in darts before are going to watch.. as they say.. the more the merrier! barney army!!

the Merv King shit on Thursday was bang out of order, I'm a massive king fan (my game and temperament is similar to his. tho he may not talk to his darts as much as i do)
he shouldn't have taken the bait but the massive pressure for points at this stage of the prem league got to him. theres alot of money on the line
barney very very rarely gets any decent reception in England especially when playing anyone English. maybe the 9 darter changed peoples opinions but was very surprise a newcastle crowd went against king since hes nver done anything wrong till this week
that Aberdeen crowd cost me money last week when they put off wade and that has stopped me betting results on the prem league from now on
I'm all for cheering booing and singing and having the party atmosphere but booing and whistling when on a double has to stop
there is no call of order from any the mc's either, surely this has to be spoken about. i dont want to hear or pin drop or hear glasses being collected at the back of the hall but surely a bit of respect at times is needed
lucky I'm piss poor at darts cuz if it was me taking the abuse iking got i would pull a Ron Artest and be in the front row fighting with the idiots

Probably because they know there's no point. I can't remember the last time anyone actually listened.
