SOCCER'S Ashley Cole last night told of his embarrassment after raunchy photos of him were sent to a topless model's mobile phone.
Sonia Wild, 28, received snaps of the Chelsea ace stripped and "in all his glory". She replied with naked videos of herself during hours of steamy exchanges.
The defender, wed to TV's Cheryl Cole, last night admitted taking the snaps of himself - reflected in a bathroom mirror - while "larking about" in the England squad's Hertfordshire hotel.
But Cole, 29, nursing a broken ankle that could jeopardise his World Cup hopes, said he WASN'T the man who sent the pics to the 28-year-old beauty while engaging her in hours of text sex.
The Chelsea player told The Sun of the amazing chain of events that saw raunchy photographs of himself end up on a topless model's mobile phone.
He claimed he had given the phone away to a pal because it still had some credit left on it. Cole, 29, said: "I can't believe I gave a phone away that still had stuff in its memory. I thought I'd deleted it.
"It seems I was wrong as someone has used it to pretend to be me. I would laugh if my foot didn't hurt so much."
A source close to the £82,000-a-week left back said last night: "Ashley's embarrassed about this. He was larking about in his room with his cameraphone before the match. He was in all his glory.
"He took the images on an unregistered pay-as-you-go phone then didn't manage to delete them when he gave it away to a mate. To say he's horrified to discover the pictures were sent to a model is an understatement."
Cole says he gave the unregistered mobile - which he said he had been using while "between phones" - to close pal Jay Wynters. But, unknown to the soccer idol, it is then said Wynters gave it to another pal who found the images and took his chance to hoodwink sexy Sonia.
Last night Cole was having to explain to wife Cheryl, 26, how the photographs ended up in the memory of Sonia's mobile.
One image showed a shirtless Cole and was captioned: "I look so ugly x." Others are too rude to print in a family newspaper.
Lads magazine glamour girl Sonia of Hull, said: "At first I didn't believe I was actually in touch with Ashley Cole. But next thing I knew I received a picture of him lying in bed on my phone.
"I recognised him straight away from the pictures I'd seen of him with his wife Cheryl - but couldn't resist having a bit of fun. It was exciting getting a picture of a soccer star.
"I'd had a few glasses of wine and before long the texts got hotter and hotter until we began exchanging sexy images on our phones. Whoever it was sent one full frontal one of his muscly torso. He was posing in front of what looked like a posh hotel's bathroom mirror. The texting and picture messaging went on for hours.
"I sent back video footage recorded on my phone of myself naked and doing sexy things for him. At the time it was a laugh and a bit of a thrill for me."
The episode will spark fresh embarrassment at the heart of Fabio Capello's England camp, days after John Terry was stripped of the captaincy over his affair with team-mate Wayne Bridge's ex Vanessa Perroncel.
Sending indecent images over an electronic network is an offence under the 2003 Communications Act - punishable by up to six months' jail or a fine of £5,000. Sonia, a single mum of two, says the encounter came on June 9 last year, the day before her birthday.
Cole, substituted for Bridge after 65 minutes in the 6-0 win, had stayed at the five-star Grove in Kings Langley, Herts, the night before the Wembley match. Sonia's phone bill shows she sent 28 messages back to the phone.
The next morning she recorded four more sexy pictures of herself in the bath and sent one to the unregistered mobile at 10.34am.
She sent a total of six texts to the phone on June 10 up until 6.09pm - around two hours before the Wembley evening kick-off.
The raunchiest snaps were clearly taken in a mirror in the bathroom of a suite at England's hotel.
Sonia said she carried on getting flirty texts from whoever had the phone for more than a month. The texter told her in June he would be "uncontactable" for a while.
Sonia said she was plagued by more texts begging her to fix a meeting. She added: "The person who kept texting asked me to go and meet him in London.
"But I'd been drunk when we had text sex and felt bad about actually meeting him. The texting was just a bit of a laugh on my side, but he was obviously serious and I eventually had to tell him, 'No way'."
During the text fling, Sonia said several messages also begged her to join the sender in America.
She said: "He kept telling me how gorgeous I was and that we had to meet up - but I honestly wasn't interested in seeing him.
"I played him along but there was no way I was ever going to meet him in the flesh. I had no idea it wasn't Ashley Cole."
Sonia told how the texts began after she became friendly online with Cole's pal Wynters.
She said: "I have never met Jay in person. But he had a picture of himself on his profile with Ashley Cole and another man who I think is also an England footballer.
"He said he had a friend who wanted to get in touch and asked if he could pass on my number. I asked who it was and he said it was the man with him in his profile picture. Now I know that was a lie."
In 2008, Cole's marriage was rocked after crimper Aimee Walton claimed they shared a one-night stand.
