The information bellow has been borrowed from Mr Barry French, and all copyrite goes to him for his hard work.
The general concept with these shots is leaving yourself as big a safety net as possible. On the bigger numbers that will mean going for a single where the treble won't bust you. On the smaller numbers it will be where a slip to the number next to it still leaves you a shot.
170 - T20 T20 Bull
167 - T20 T19 Bull
164 - T19 T19 Bull It is a surprise that Phil Taylor has only learned this way of taking 164 in the past month or two! Two darts at the same target area is better for rhythm, than moving around the board.
161 - T20 T17 Bull
160 - T20 T20 D20
158 - T20 T20 D19 I've seen people shoot T18 T18 Bull here and I can't understand why. Yes, D19 is an awful double to most players, but it is bigger than the bull.
157 - T20 T19 D20 You can reverse the trebles if you want, but I find the movement from 20 to 19 more natural than 19 to 20. Plus I would rather score a minimum of 60 than 59, as 97 is a better outshot than 98. If you look at those outshots you will understand why.
156 - T20 T20 D18 Looks very attractive this shot does, but if you block the bed or leave an awkward lie that may be turn over. I would prefer to leave 158 in this situation. as at least should you leave the t20 so covered that you can't hit it, then at least you have the escape route of t18 Bull.
155 - T20 T19 D19 Not a nice outshot to leave. Better to leave 154 or 156 if you have to. It isn't so bad if your darts lands upward, but those who have the darts landing like Taylor and Barneveld, it can make shooting at D19 awkward
154 - T19 T19 D20 Two darts at the same target, to leave a bread and butter double.
153 - T20 T19 D18 A natural flowing movement you should have some experience with going from 20 to 19 to 18. So not a nasty out really as it is a movement you should be familiar with.
152 - T20 T20 D16 An Awkward first treble leaves you the escape route of t14 Bull
151 - T17 T20 D20 Now you're thinking "hang on he said the movement from T20 to T19 is more natural than reverse, so why is T17 any different?" The truth is, it isn't much different, but if you look at my outshot selection for 134 you may understand
150 - T19 T19 D18
149 - T20 T19 D16
148 - T20 T20 D14
147 - T19 T18 D18
146 - T19 T19 D16
145 - T20 T19 D14
144 - T20 T20 D12
143 - T20 T17 D16
142 - T19 T19 D14
141 - T20 T19 D12
140 - T20 T20 D10
139 - T19 Bull D16
138 - T19 T19 D12
137 - T20 T19 D10 You can go T20 T15 D16 if you want. But bear in mind should you hit S19 you leave 58 with one dart. Hit a S15 you leave 62. You want three darts at a double next turn? Take the sensible route
136 - T20 t20 D8
135 - Bull T19 D14 S25 leaves 110 with two darts. Simply put no other single will leave you a two dart shot, so Bull HAS to be where your first dart is aimed. Should you then hit S19, you have a nice marker to throw at bull again, to leave 16 next throw.
134 - T17 T17 D16 Two S17s leave 100 so it's a nice switch up to the T20 to leave 40 next turn. 4 marks on 17s leaves 76 so again you are up to the 20s (76 left) to leave D8. So regardless of whether you hit 3 or 4 marks, your 3rd dart is going up to the same place. Should you hit the magic two trebles, the switch to D16 is nice and comfortable
133 - T20 T19 D8
132 - Bull Bull D16 This shot causes much debate especially at local level, where you can be percieved as a smug cocky git if you attempt to go for the bull. But as with 135, S25 is the only single which can leave a two dart out (107). So you simply HAVE to go this way. Would be better to leave 134 or 130 if you can to be honest
131 - T19 T14 D16 If I had to hit a single first dart, I would rather leave 112 than leave 111 bvy going for T20. Why? Because you are then throwing two darts at the same segment. I can't stress enough how much easier you can make life for yourself by being more comfortable.
130 - T20 T14 D14 T20 T20 D5 I love this shot, although I admit shooting the pressure shot more than I should (with no pressure). Missing D5 can be lethal, so only go T20 T20 D5 when you have to
129 - T19 T16 D12
128 - T18 T18 D10
127 - T20 T9 D20 T20 T17 D8
126 - T19 T19 D6 You have to start on T19 as a single leaves 107 with two darts. I've seen several players throw at T20, and that is just wrong as only a T20 will leave you a two dart out.
125 - Bull 25 Bull This is an awful shot that should not be left at all. It is more of a hit and hope shot really and the darts can block the bed making it a horrible shot to play. Under pressure it would be even worse
124 - T20 T16 D8 T20 T14 D11
123 - T19 Bull D8 T19 T16 D9
122 - T18 T18 D7 There is no easy way to take out 122. If you were to hit T18 first dart you would leave 68 - T16 D10. It is just such an awkward movement that it is
121 - T20 T15 D8 T20 T11 D14This is a bread and butter shot for most professional players. You see it taken out a lot, mainly on the bull. But with no pressure, there is no need to go for T11 D14, as the D14 breakdown is awkward.
120 - T20 S20 D20
119 - T19 T10 D16 T19 T12 D13
118 - T20 S18 D20
117 - T20 S17 D20 T19 S20 D20 Not a nice out really. Looks harmless, But there isn't any room for error at all. The pressure shot is nasty as well. I just think it is better to leave 120 or 116 if you can
116 - T19 S19 D20 Two T19s won't bust you on this shot, whereas if you accidentally hit a T20 trying to leave 36 (D18) your turn is over. You shouldn't hit a treble going for a single, but bad luck does exist from time to time I prefer two darts in one target rather than T20 S16 D20
115 - T20 S15 D20 The movement is awkward on 115 so it is a number I would advise you avoid. Only the 5 segment saves you from any trouble. Better to leave 116 where possible
114 - T19 S17 D20 Missing to the 7 segment gives you a lifeline, plus if you hit S19 first dart, you are shooting at same segment for next two darts anyway (Shanghai 19s)
113 - T19 T16 D4/S16 D20
112 - T20 T12 D8/S12 D20 I LOVE 112, Provides so many opportunities. Even if you block the T20 bed somehow with your first dart, you can go T14 Bull.
111 - T19 S18 D18 7 gives you a lifeline, and while S1 would get you out of trouble on T20, the single double combination is better if you hit T19 first dart. T19 S18 D18 or T20 S15 D18. It really is your choice but its better to move once in an outshot than to move twice. Especially if you aren't comfortable with outshots as it is. Personally I'm fine, but I'm conscious others may not be
110 - T19 S17 D18 Start on 19s as you have a cushion (3's). Go out of 20 first dart your turn is over
109 - T17 S12 D20 A slip to S2 saves you. It is an ugly shot though so best to leave 108 where possible
108 - T19 S19 D16 or T18 S18 D18 18 has a bigger safety net but I throw at 19s more than 18s. Movement from 19 to 16 is minimal. Horses for courses really.
107 - T19 S18 D16 7s and 3s can rescue you if you miss first dart
106 - T20 S10 D18 - Not the best shot in the world, but not THAT ugly if left. Prefer 107 or 105 in all truth
105 - T20 S13 D16
104 - T16 T16 D4 A total of 4 marks on the 16's leaves you on D20
103 - T19 S10 D18
102 - T20 S10 D16
101 - T19 S4 D20
100 - T20 D20
99 - T17 S16 D16 I start on 17s, as 99 can be finished without hitting a triple should you hit S17 (leaves 82 - Bull D16). Try and leave 100 if you can! You only get one dart at a double here no matter what way you attempt it
110 - T19 S17 D18 T20 Bull Start on 19s as you have a cushion (3's). Go out of 20 first dart your turn is over
109 - T20 S17 D16 A shot to be avoided if possible. Tough under pressure
108 - T19 S19 D16 18 has a bigger safety net but I throw at 19s more than 18s. Movement from 19 to 16 is minimal
107 - T19 S18 D16 T19 Bull 7s and 3s can rescue you if you miss first dart
106 - T20 S10 D18 A shot to be avoided if possible. Tough under pressure
105 - T20 S13 D16
104 - T16 T16 D4 T18 Bull A total of 4 marks on the 16's leaves you on D20
103 - T19 S10 D18
102 - T20 S10 D16
101 - T20 S9 D16 T17 Bull
100 - T20 D20
99 - T17 S16 D16 I start on 17s, as 99 can be finished without hitting a triple should you hit S17 (leaves 82 - Bull D16)
98 - T20 D19
97 - T19 D20
96 - T20 D18
95 - T19 D19 Bull S5 D20 All the serious darters here will understand why you need to go for the bull first dart under pressure
94 - T18 D20 Bull S4 D20 But for those who dont I will explain why - Under pressure you need to leave yourself one dart at a
93 - T19 D18 Bull S19 D12 double. The only way to do that without hitting a treble is by hitting two singles. if you hit the bull
92 - T20 D16 Bull S10 D16 first dart that is a bonus as all you need to do is hit a normal single to leave a conventional double.
91 - T17 D20 Bull S9 D16 If you hit the single bull (25) with your first dart, you can leave the bull by hitting a single. The
90 - T18 D18 S20 S20 Bull Bull route is only necessary when your opponent is on a finish! Go for bull under pressure only!
89 - T19 D16
88 - T20 D14
87 - T17 D18
86 - T18 D16
85 - T19 D14 Bull S3 D16Between 81 and 85 the principle is the same as 91-95. Under pressure you want to guarantee
84 - T20 D12 Bull D17a shot at a CONVENTIONAL double. You can go for a treble first dart, miss to single then hit another
83 - T17 D16 Bull S19 D12single to leave the bull. However why do that when you can hit a larger area??
82 - Bull D16
81 - T19 D12 Bull S19 D6
80 - T20 D10
79 - T19 D11
78 - D18 D12
77 - T19 D10
76 - T16 D14 If you hit a 1 or 5 going for T20 D8 you are relying on hitting a treble to leave a double. Should you hit a number either side of T16 a single can leave you the double or bull
75 - T17 D12 S25 Bull You really do not want to be left on 75 with two darts as the 25 can block your dart at the bull
74 - T14 D16
73 - T19 D8
72 - T16 D12
71 - T13 D16 Some will argue that T17 D10 is a good shot to go for. While it may be, if you slop to T3 or T2 on 17s then you are left with single & bull combo. Slop into T4 or T6 on 13s you are left with single & conventional double.
70 - T14 D14 T20 D5 The pressure shots are ugly so try not to get into them if you can help it (goes without saying). Should
69 - T19 D6 T19 D6 you have to leave it then fair enough. If you hit single going for treble on the 61-70 shots it
68 - T16 D10 T18 D7 leaves you one dart at the bull Rod Harrington calls this playing the percentages and with good reason
67 - T9 D20 T17 D8
66 - Bull D8 T16 D9
65 - T11 D16 T15 D10
64 - T16 D8 T14 D11

48 - S16 D16

70 - T14 D14 T20 D5 The pressure shots are ugly so try not to get into them if you can help it (goes without saying). Should
