Well, and that was that as they say, not to worry though there is always next year and plenty more comps im playing in this year as well.
Anyway, it was an intresting day to say the least, well set up venue and although I turned up there far from 100% I give it my best and my final game against Andy Pearce was just one game too many for me on the day, just had nothing left in the tank.
My first game against Oxfordshires Mark Stocker was a big talking point amongst spectators and the officials and id like to say a really big thank you to the bearded scruffy dwarf 2hat of a board official who felt the need to have a pop at my missus over an inncodent that happened during my game....well done anyway, bet it made you feel real big mouthing off at my lass!!!
The inncodent started with myself and the chalker, the chalker made a couple of mistakes while marking the game and it wasnt until the 5th mistake just after the 2nd leg I said to him..'wake up will ya' and at that he put down the pen and made a bee line towards the official, still argueing with the official with a new chalker on board in the 3rd leg saying that I had no right to have a go at him, I stated on 3 occasions that I had only said for him to wake up and was told then that nobody is perfect and everyone makes mistakes.....yeah ok, fair enough, I accept that but 5 mistakes in just over 2 legs of darts all on my scores yet the chalker manages to score my opponents game perfectly!!!
Anyway, after going 3-0 down I got my head together and pulled it out of the bag 5-4, Mark Stocker also risked being disqualified and should have been for breaking the rules in the 2nd leg of the game when he went to the table and picked up a drink that was not water and was asked by the official not to drink it again, sorry but you break the rules, your out, I bet if I had been the one taking a drink other than water there would have been no warning what so ever.
Anyway, revenge was sweet in the semis as I was then playing the guy who chalked the game between myself and Mark Stocker as I dug deep and blitzed the bastard 5-0, after the game I still shook his hand and he said to me....'I still think your an arsehole' so with the blatant one sided mistakes and what he said to me its obviously one of my fans ;D ;D
Andy Pearce played well in the final and in fact all day, I had chances in a couple of legs but to be fair Andy was the best player on board 8 on sunday and deserved to qualify, cant say im not pissed off at getting to the last game before bolton and falling at the last hurdle but thats darts, onto the next tournament with enough time to sort myself out inbetween.

Hard lines, but, well done on beating that mathematically challenged marker, can't beat a bit of poetic justice.
