And so it continues. Mark McGhee leaving Motherwell to go to Aberdeen leaving the Well to need a new manager. John Hughes might be leaving Falkirk for Swansea, and Watford have Derek McInnes ( ) in their shortlist. I like the idea of Mowbray at Celtic. Could make for some interesting football being played. I just hope he's given a decent fund to go out and take a shot at the CL or maybe even the Europa League.

if desmond would dip into his pocket we would be an awesome team again. the team is piss poor at best. new fella has a job to get rid of 10 players who shouldnt be anywhere near a celtic jersey unless its in a sports shop

Hughes appointed Hibs manager today , so falkirk lookin' for new gaffer - priestley maybe? Not sure if he fancies a move out of darts, nevermind into football management. You lot have a decent team. The midfield is terrific and if set up properly, could cause problems for any number of sides. The defence would be solid with a better partner for Caldwell. Strikers seem to be a problem. McDonald needs someone alongside him. I don't think Strachan built a bad side, but there is also the duds. To say the team is piss poor is incredibly harsh. You're only a couple of players away from punching above your weight.

dom u obviously havnt seen much of celtic the last 6 months, i dunno if they have been as good as piss poor. winning 8 out of 18 says it all. in that team boruc, caldwell, brown, crosas and mcgeady are really the only guys who should be anywhere near a celtic jersey.
mcdonald couldnt control a hard on, he has the worst 1st touch for a pro player ive ever seen. big yan has lost 5 yards of pace, ive seen 89 years old run faster than him. samaras can go anytime and mcmanus, naylor, wilson, hinkel, loovens, flood should follow him plus the rest of the shite ginger wasted money on

the debt has gone so its now time to invest in that team rather than sign average players from the championship and spl to fill out the team

Maybe a kick up the arse is what certain players need. Scott McDonald, Lee Naylor, Naka, Maloney and Hesselink are all capable of much more than they have shown recently, and every single one of those players have proved that fact at the highest level. I've seen for myself how good those players can be.
For the record, Maloney is a much better player than Aiden "Can only dribble past diddies" McGeady.
Speaking of players who have shown in the hoops what they can do. Samaras. A guy who, in the first half of the season, was scoring all sorts of goals in all manner of ways and was generally playing his socks off. He dropped in confidence big time after Aalborg and it's now up to the new manager to do something about that.
What, exactly, has Hinkel done wrong ? He is very good defensively and is at least competant coming forward. Has hardly put a foot wrong and yet you want him out the door ? I'm beginning to get the impression that you're the one who hasn't seen much of the guy.
I'm not sure on Willo Flood. The jury is definately out on him. I don't think he's been given enough of a chance to make an impact myself. I'm a bit doubtful on whether he has what it takes though.
I think where Strachan probably DID fail is in motivation. The number of players who could be playing better is pretty alarming now that I'm actually typing them out. Nakamura is out the door so we won't know what the next manager could have done with him, but the likes of Samaras, Naylor, Hesselink and McDonald might well prosper.
I do agree on McManus and Loovens. Not good enough.

Maloney actually became a regular starter at Aston Villa before Celtic took him back. He could actually take on GOOD defenders, pretty regularly, and beat them. Something which Aiden McGeady can't seem to be able to do. Of course, Maloney has been doing the same thing at Celtic and was completely ignored. He was then expected to suddenly turn it on when he hadn't played in weeks. It's ridiculous to see what has happened to him at Parkhead, but considering the pish Aiden McGeady has gotten away with, it's no surprise.
Of course, people like yourself will continue to think he isn't good because he doesn't play, while continuing to completely ignore what he has actually done.

it doesnt matter if he plays or not, the fella has always been way overrated. was never a regular for villa, half his games were from the subs bench, fair enough some will say he never settled down there but he just wasnt good enough at that level. barry, petrov, milner and young were always gonna play every game
really left celtic cuz he couldnt get a game at the timewith naka and mcgeady on wings, he was never getting in front of them.
has a decent chance of playing now that naka is gone and if he cant beat out robson and flood for a place in the team then theres something wrong

He WAS a regular right before being signed by Celtic, towards the end of his last full season for Aston Villa. Probably spent about three months out on the wing. Not sure if Ashley Young was injured or not, but Maloney more than held his own in that side. He left Celtic as a striker remember. For some reason, he discovered his real position at Aston Villa, and really deserves a better shot than he's ever been given. I think he went back to Celtic a better player than he left anyways. You have to remember that he was playing better players week in and week out. You can't do that and not improve, even slightly. Robson is a decent enough player, although he WAS given enough chances against class opposition and if you ask me, completely exposed. Good for the SPL though, which can come in handy from a "squad player" sort of perspective. Willo Flood, again, is unproven. He's not played too much. He might shine. He might not. Rememer Brown had a dire start at Celtic and he's now one of your key players. As I said, there is the base there for a decent side. Sign a right winger, a striker ( maybe to go alongside a motivated Hesselink ) and a left back and you have a shot. Even with a dodgy centre back partnering Caldwell, two solid wing backs can make the world of difference.
